Both cancer and many treatments for cancer can cause a deficiency of red blood cells.  When one’s red blood cell count is low, he/she can experience fatigue, muscle weakness, shortness of breath, dizziness, irregular heartbeat, and cold body temperature. There are 5 main ingredients necessary for the production of red blood cells: vitamins B6, B9 (folate), B12, copper, and iron.

B vitamins are also necessary for adequate nerve function.  Deficiency of vitamins B6 and B12 can worsen the effect of chemo induced peripheral neuropathy. This product contains vitamin B6, B9 (folate), and B12 which can help support red blood cell production and minimize the severity of peripheral neuropathy.

It is important to note that one should only supplement with B vitamins if the body is low or deficient. It is strongly recommended that you ask your doctor to check your current serum levels before starting on this product, as toxicity of B vitamins can be harmful. Also, because of the antioxidant effects of B vitamins, it is recommended to avoid this product 1 week before, during, and 4 weeks after radiation.
